Replacing your roof may seem like a daunting task. Thankfully, you don’t have to attempt to DIY a re roofing project without getting some education first. The video posted here can give you a great start as you plan your project.
First, you need to gather your tools and supplies.
Some of the most significant tools include safety gear, an air compressor, a roofing nailer, and a shingle remover. You also need roofing materials, including shingles, roofing nails, and builder’s felt.
Once you have your supplies, you need to get started by removing the old roofing materials. Depending on the state of your old roofing materials, this could be an easy or difficult job. Try using a shingle removal tool, and make sure you have a dumpster or truck nearby so you have somewhere to put the old roofing materials.
Once the old materials are removed, you can start installing new roofing materials. Always start at the bottom of the roof and work your way up to the top of the roof to ensure the materials are layered to shed water. The video gives a great demonstration of installing the builder’s felt and shingles. When fixing up your roof, make sure your insurance isn’t affected.
